Don’t worry! If there’s a small spill or accident on your Essentia mattress, here’s how to clean it while caring for its organic materials.

How to clean the mattress

1. Blot the area: Use a clean, dry cloth to absorb as much liquid as possible. Avoid rubbing, which can push moisture deeper into the foam.

2. Spot-clean if needed: Avoid harsh chemical cleaners or bleach. Use a lightly damp cloth to gently clean the affected surface without soaking the foam.

3. Let it dry completely: Allow the area to air dry fully before replacing the cover or making the bed.

How to wash the organic cotton cover

If needed, remove the GOTS-certified organic cotton cover and machine wash it in cold water with a mild detergent. Do not use bleach. Hang it to dry or use the lowest-heat or air-dry setting on your dryer, as high heat can cause organic cotton to shrink.

Tip: Avoid saturating the mattress with water. Keeping moisture from penetrating the foam helps protect your mattress and allows it to dry more thoroughly.
