Do I need a waterproof mattress protector on my Essentia mattress?Updated 2 hours ago

For most sleepers, we don’t recommend using a waterproof mattress protector unless extra protection is needed, such as in homes with young children or anyone prone to nighttime accidents.

Why don’t we typically recommend waterproof protectors?

Waterproof protectors usually rely on a laminated or barrier layer to prevent liquid from reaching the mattress. This layer can restrict airflow and interfere with the cooling benefits of Essentia’s foam. Additional layers between you and the mattress may also reduce the contouring and pressure-relieving feel of the foam.

What if I need extra protection?

If spills or accidents are a concern, we offer the Body Guard Mattress Protector as an option for added protection.

Every Essentia mattress also comes with a removable organic cotton cover that can be machine washed in cold water with a mild detergent and air dried or tumble dried on the lowest setting.

Our recommendation: Enjoy your Essentia mattress directly with its organic cotton cover for the intended feel, unless your household needs the added protection of a mattress protector.
