Can I use a cooling mattress cover or pod on my Essentia?Updated 2 years ago

We do not recommend using a cooling mattress cover or pod with your Essentia mattress. In most cases, these covers have a water tube system that allows for cooling or heating effects. As cold water runs through the tubes it can cause condensation to soak the fabric and in turn surface of the mattress. If the cover is not removed daily for the surface of the mattress to fully dry this may cause moisture build up and potentially mold or mildew on your mattress. 

You also want to keep in mind that the more layers you put between yourself and the foam, the less contour, pressure relieving benefits, and dynamic cooling you will experience. 

If you opt to use a chili pad, eight sleep pod, or some other water tube cooling cover that is at your own risk as mold or mildew is not covered by the warranty. 

Alternatively, if you have a Chili Sleep unit a great option to add to your sleep system would be the cooling weighted blanket. This is an item that would not have direct contact with the surface of the mattress.
