Can I use a boxspring with an Essentia mattress?Updated 2 years ago
Your new Essentia mattress will work best on a flat, firm surface. This also means the frame that you have the mattress and foundation on should be able to support the weight of the sleepers and the mattress!
What Foundations Work Best with Your New Essentia
- Rize Adjustable Foundation 2.0
- Vertebase Foundation 2.0 - this is meant to be used on a bed frame.
- A slatted bed frame - be sure the slats are completely flat and firm with no more than 3 inches of space between each slat.
- A solid platform bed frame - if you opt for this option please ensure that there is minimal moisture and humidity in the home. You want to avoid any moisture getting trapped between the mattress and the surface which may cause mold or mildew.
What Foundations You Should Avoid
- Do not use slats that bow upward such as image 1 above.
- The number of slats does not matter, as long as the space between each slat is no more than 3 inches.
- Image 2 shows a bed frame, you will need to purchase a foundation to set in the bed frame to then put the mattress on.
- Do not use a steel grid that has space of more than 3 inches for each square.
- We do not recommend using the mattress on the floor, as moisture will get trapped.
- Do not use a box spring or any foundation that has springs inside. This is not an appropriate support and will affect the performance of the mattress.
Please ensure that you are using a proper foundation, as an improper foundation will void your warranty.
